Dear Hi-Jivers, we wish to truly thank you for your support for Hi-Jive's monthly freestyles since 2018. It has been a terrific journey for us, especially that year at the iconic King Alfred in Hove, and we've enjoyed every minute.

However, it is with great regret that due to a combination of circumstances beyond our direct control, we have taken the difficult decision not to hold any more dances until further notice.
​
This may come as a disappointment for quite a few of you, as it does to us, but please keep in touch and we will let you know of any future dates when we plan to run freestyle events.
​
Once again, thank you for your fabulous support and we look forward to seeing you soon on the dance floor at other local venues.

EXPERIENCE
Alison, John and Nick all bring different and yet complementary skill sets to Hi-Jive. The first person that you will meet when you come to our dances is Alison. Hi-Jive benefits not only from her abilities as a company administrator and accountant, but also her friendly front of house manner that ensures a warm welcome for all.
John worked for many years in the audio business, so Hi-Jive's sound (and light) is second to none. Listen to how crisp it sounds.
Jive DJ Nick has been deejaying for over fifteen years, and has a passion for finding and playing the very best music for jive, to help everyone have a great evening and keep them on the dance floor all night long!

ABOUT US
Friends Alison, John and Nick had been dancing modern jive for several years when they decided that they'd like to set up a regular freestyle dance so that they could dance with their friends to music that they themselves really enjoyed. In 2018, they created Hi-Jive, initially running events at St. Peter's Community Centre in Hangleton, Hove, which stands in the shadow of the West Blatchington windmill . They swapped a Saturday night slot for a regular third Friday of the month when they moved to the King Alfred Ballroom in Hove in early 2023 until December that year, with some memorable nights. They switched to the Henfield Hall from February 2024 until June 2025, and will be back at St. Peter's Community Centre from August 2025.
